Arvada Flour Mill’s 100th Birthday Celebration

Sunday, April 12 – 12 – 3pm

At the mill – 5590 Olde Wadsworth Blvd., free parking in the RTD Hub next to the mill

Join us as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the sale of the first sack of Arva-Pride flour. Opened on April 1, 1926, the mill sold its first sack of flour to Charles Rowe of the Arvada Lumber Company on April 12, 1926. That was the first of thousands of flour sacks produced at the Arva-Pride Mill, built and operated by Eugene Emory Benjamin. Frank Tiller took ownership in 1944 and continued milling until 1951.

This is a free, family friendly event. We hope you join us for demonstrations and activities that celebrate everything wheat! A bread baking contest will be judged at the event, we’ll mill wheat into flour and demonstrate our wheat field and agricultural equipment. This will be an indoor/outdoor event so plan accordingly for the weather.

You’ll have a chance to “mill around” the mill and learn about its history and operation from our expert volunteers.

Please join us. Want to volunteer or have questions – arvadahistory@outlook.com

MONTHLY BOARD MEETINGS – Join Us!

The Arvada Historical Society Board of Directors meets to discuss and guide the work of the Society. Meetings are typically here on the 4th Monday of the month at 6:30 PM at the McIlvoy House (7307 Grandview Ave.), with the exception of August, when we host our Annual Membership Meeting.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2026 , at 6:30 PM.

Meetings are open to the public, and we welcome community members to attend and learn more about what’s happening at the Society. Agendas vary each month based on current projects and priorities—come join the conversation.
