Thanks to everyone who joined us for our first History Speaks event! We’re back with an even bigger and better program—more space, improved visuals, and great sound.

🌊 About the Event

Today, clean, safe drinking water flows from your tap — but it wasn’t always that simple.
Early Arvadans often relied on agricultural ditches for water, sometimes with tragic results.

Join us for a lively discussion on how the 1910 Arvada water tower changed everything, and how the city’s growing population, new industries, and post-WWII expansion shaped the municipal water system we depend on today.

Speakers:

  • Jim Sullivan
  • Brad Wyant
  • Tom Fletcher
    🎙 Emcee: Sharon Davis

If you’ve ever wondered how water really reaches your home — come hear the full story!

We are re-organizing the date and location and look forward to seeing you soon at this great event.

MONTHLY BOARD MEETINGS – Join Us!

The Arvada Historical Society Board of Directors meets May, July, September, and November to discuss and guide the work of the Society. Meetings are now held on the 4th Monday of the month at 6:30 PM at the McIlvoy House (7307 Grandview Ave.), with the exception of August, when we host our Annual Membership Meeting.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 27, 2025, at 6:30 PM.

Meetings are open to the public, and we welcome community members to attend and learn more about what’s happening at the Society. Agendas vary each month based on current projects and priorities—come join the conversation.
