This engaging and educational talk will be a moderated panel featuring representatives from the Juchem Ditch and Farmers Highline Canal will share the fascinating stories of the ‘59ers who dug ditches by hand to support gold mining and agriculture. Discover how these pioneering families turned Arvada into a thriving farming community, bringing water—and life—to the land. Bring your friends and family for this unique look into our city’s watery roots!

PAY PARKING is available at the Elks South Lot – The South (57th and Yukon) parking lot is open to the public for $6 for the first two hours and $2 for each additional hour.

MONTHLY BOARD MEETINGS – Join Us!

The Arvada Historical Society Board of Directors meets May, July, September, and November to discuss and guide the work of the Society. Meetings are now held on the 4th Monday of the month at 6:30 PM at the McIlvoy House (7307 Grandview Ave.), with the exception of August, when we host our Annual Membership Meeting.

Our next meeting is scheduled for May 26, 2025, at 6:30 PM.
Meetings are open to the public, and we welcome community members to attend and learn more about what’s happening at the Society. Agendas vary each month based on current projects and priorities—come join the conversation!
